The Inevitable

I don’t know what those eyes are in search of. But I find them staring at every passing car, searching, looking forward to the inevitable. That one day he would drive by, and she would catch a glimpse of him, and he hers. And he would look at her elusive eyes, trying to figure out how she is. With their minds riding down their own memory lanes, emotions flushing in. As she’d come close to tears, and he’d park his car and rush up to her, sweeping her in his warm embrace, take her away, once again in their fantasy world. Once again, riding away on a white horse, in their journey to Utopia.

Happily ever after…

Till thunder strikes, Utopia shatters, and the skies come crashing down. Till their horse throws them back on the ground, back where they belong.
